Southern African is justly proud of its outdoor heritage. Sunshine and more sunshine equates to a wonderful array of golf courses arranged the length and breadth of the sub-continent. Designed by maestros such as our own Gary Player and Robert Trent Jones (Jun) these are courses not only renowned for their aesthetic value but, in some instances, for their uniqueness which cannot be emulated elsewhere. 5th Dimension Helicopter Golfing Safaris can, of course, make your visit to our country more memorable by the way in which it is structured. Our Southern Golfing Safari which starts in Cape Town and ends in Durban proffers a number of exceptionally fine courses. Then up along rugged coastline where the Wild Coast Sun and Fish River Sun will test your skills on a windy day in the finest tradition of a coastal course. Finally to the undulations of the Durban Country Club where on the "Prince of Wales" hole, the Prince himself took 17 shots to master it. The Northern Golfing Safari offers a totally different experience. After flying in to the Pilanesberg and the famous Sun City resort, you will be faced by the challenge offered by the Gary Player Country Club (home of the MILLION DOLLAR CHALLENGE) and the newer exceptional Lost City course. Then, for the more adventurous, it's time to depart for wilder Africa and courses such as that of the Hans Merensky Country Club. Bordering the Kruger National Park, competitors need to be mindful of hitting their shots too close to water holes where hippo and the odd crocodile lurk. Not only is it approach shots on the 17th that test the resolve of the golfer, a woman's fourball, about to tee off on the 15th was witness to a leopard kill, while the course manager himself was once made to retreat in haste after members had complained that a buffalo had caused their round to be halted.
